On July 4, 2014, another Guinness World Record attempt resulted in a new record!
426 people participated in the Largest Soul Train Dance in center field during Goodyear's annual Star Spangled 4th celebration at Goodyear Ballpark. Two by two, dancers shimmied and shook their way down the Soul Train line, which started off to the tune of Love Train, in true Soul Train fashion. All participants had to keep dancing until everyone had gone through the line.
Photos, videos and witness statements documented the attempt and were submitted to Guinness for review. It was determined that this attempt successfully met the criteria for breaking the previous record of 291, achieved by the Philadelphia Soul Train Line Dancers in February of 2012.
On July 4, 2013 exactly 1,957 people sat in the Moustache Zone and donned peel-and-stick moustaches made of synthetic hair as part of an attempt to break the existing Guinness World Record for "Largest Gathering of People Wearing False Moustaches" The last record of 1,532 was set in March of 2013 at Gilda's LaughFest in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
We have received confirmation from Guinness that indeed, we are "OFFICIALLY AMAZING" and are now part of an elite group of Guinness World Records title holders.
