Goodyear Ballpark Welcomes Its 1,000,000th Fan
On the evening of Saturday, March 19, when the Cleveland Indians took on the Chicago Cubs, there was excitement in the air. Not just because the game was a sellout. And not because that sellout was the largest to date at Goodyear Ballpark.
That evening, all hands were on deck to welcome Goodyear Ballpark's one millionth fan.
After verifying with the Ticket Office, the announcements began narrowing down in which side of the ballpark this lucky fan was sitting. Next, the section was identified. Then, during the middle of the 4th inning, the celebration came to her. Jean Wilson, of Las Vegas, Nevada, sitting in Section 117, Row S, Seat 2 was showered with silly string, party beads and a whole lot of attention as the spotlight shined on her. There couldn't have been a more picture perfect celebration.
Jean was presented with a golden fan to commemorate the occasion, gift cards and other prizes and had the chance to win one million dollars after the game. While she didn't win the million dollars, she did come away a winner saying, "This was the best day of my life!"
It was a great day for Goodyear, too.
